“Finally, REAL<\/strong><\/em> women”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Wait~!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Skinny women aren’t Real???<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Once again<\/p>\n We pass judgment<\/p>\n On ourselves<\/p>\n And our sisters<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We define “Real” by the shallow<\/p>\n And not the substantive<\/p>\n We feel guilty<\/p>\n Dirty<\/p>\n Unworthy<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We wait to feel beautiful<\/p>\n To love<\/p>\n To live<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Until we are “perfect”<\/p>\n By someone else’s standards<\/p>\n <\/p>\n But perfect never comes<\/p>\n Our chance passes<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n ~It’s heartbreaking~<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Women never living fully<\/p>\n Because they believe a lie<\/p>\n They’re not “Real” till a marketing ad<\/p>\n Has defined<\/em><\/p>\n Or undefined<\/em> them.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n ~It’s our own fault~<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Measuring ourselves<\/p>\n Our friends<\/p>\n Our children<\/p>\n Complete strangers<\/p>\n By only what we see<\/p>\n <\/p>\n ~When will we acknowledge our strength?~<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n Embrace this fragile treasure<\/p>\n Of LIFE<\/p>\n And stop caring<\/p>\n About how marketing gurus<\/p>\n Think they’ll best convince us to consume<\/p>\n <\/p>\n When will we get angry<\/p>\n That a campaign highlighting “real” women<\/p>\n Still requires them be photographed in their underwear<\/p>\n Still<\/em> objectified solely by sex<\/p>\n <\/p>\n When will we decide<\/p>\n To stop defining ourselves by our appendages<\/p>\n By bone structure<\/p>\n Muscles<\/p>\n and skin<\/p>\n and a scale<\/p>\n as \u00a0though we are just another piece of meat<\/p>\n <\/p>\n It seems a little ridiculous<\/p>\n When you think about it<\/p>\n <\/p>\n It’s just flesh<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n Yet<\/p>\n In truth so much more<\/p>\n Than a dwelling for our spirit<\/p>\n A phenomenal\u00a0part of us<\/p>\n Designed<\/em><\/p>\n To enjoy life’s sensual pleasures<\/p>\n Taste, feel, sight, smell, sound<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We are so hampered by sight<\/p>\n We miss the rest<\/p>\n <\/p>\n When we will embrace the fullness of what we are as women?<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n For our daughters<\/p>\n Our fellow-woman<\/p>\n Our lovers<\/p>\n Ourselves<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We are more than the sum of our appendages.<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n We are<\/p>\n Spirit<\/p>\n Mystery<\/p>\n Sensual<\/p>\n Designer<\/p>\n Beauty<\/p>\n Provider<\/p>\n Brains<\/p>\n Intuition<\/p>\n Healer<\/p>\n Lover<\/p>\n Nurturer<\/p>\n Hope<\/p>\n Strength<\/p>\n Justice<\/p>\n Courage<\/p>\n Priestess<\/p>\n Light<\/p>\n Love<\/p>\n Beloved<\/p>\n Brilliance<\/p>\n Hilarity<\/p>\n Creativity<\/p>\n Life altering,<\/em><\/p>\n World changers.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n ~Each – perfect, unique works of art~<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n When will we look past<\/p>\n Physique alone<\/p>\n <\/p>\n And recognize the deep beauty<\/p>\n The real-ness of each woman we see<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Especially the one<\/p>\n We greet each morning<\/p>\n In the mirror<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I am ready<\/p>\n
